UPDATE: Arrest in Yorke Drive, Newark, incident

A man has been arrested after an incident in Newark.

Police were called to Yorke Road, Newark around 7.15pm tonight (Monday 16 April), following reports of a domestic-related incident.

A 30-year-old man has been taken into police custody on suspicion of threats to kill.

Neighbouring residents will be allowed back into their homes once the property has been made safe.

A road in Newark has been closed, as officers deal with an ongoing incident.

Police were called to Yorke Drive, in Newark just before 7.15pm this evening (Monday 16 April), following reports of a domestic-related incident and concerns for the safety of a man inside a property.

Officers remain at the scene while the situation is continuing, and a number of people at neighbouring properties have been evacuated.

Diversions have also been put in place to prevent traffic from travelling into Yorke Drive.
