Officers are investigating whether a sudden death in the city area of Nottingham is linked to the illegal psychoactive substance known as Black Mamba.

They were called to an address in London Road at around 7.40pm yesterday (Saturday 12 August).

A 37-year-old man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene and a 39-year-old man was admitted to hospital where his condition is said not to be life threatening or altering. Initial investigations indicate that the men had been taking the synthetic cannabinoid drug.

Forensic examinations are still being carried out but officers want to raise awareness of the dangers to anyone who may be using it.

We advise against taking recreational drugs completely but if you do and you have concerns, please seek medical advice immediately. More information about the drug can be found here: http://www.talktofrank.com/drug/synthetic-cannabinoids

101 is the number to call when you need to contact Nottinghamshire Police and it’s less urgent than a 999 call. Calls cost 15p, no matter how long the call lasts.
