Detectives are investigating after an 82-year-old woman was attacked in Hall Drive, Chilwell, at around 8.45pm yesterday (Saturday 9 September).

She was pulled into a bush by a man who officers believe intended to rob her. However he fled after she screamed.

Around half an hour later another woman was approached by a man who robbed of her handbag in Caldbeck Court, Chilwell. The incidents are believed to be linked.

The man is described as white and anywhere from 5ft 5ins to 6ft tall, with medium-length brown hair and wearing dark clothing and possibly a baseball cap.

Officers were today conducting house-to-house enquiries in the area and are appealing for witnesses who may have been in the area or anyone with information about the identity of the offender to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting incident numbers 791 or 814 of 9 September 2017.

101 is the number to call when you need to contact Nottinghamshire Police and it’s less urgent than a 999 call. Calls cost 15p, no matter how long the call lasts.
