Appeal follows clothes store burglary

Posted on 17th August 2010

Police have made an appeal for information about the theft of hundreds of pounds worth of designer jeans from a Retford shop last week.

The Firetrap branded jeans were stolen from Platinum, in Grove Street, at around 1.30am on Friday 13 August, after the front ground floor window was forced open.

The store’s owners estimate that jeans worth approximately £860 were taken during the burglary.

Investigating officer PC Mark Talbot said: “Even though this burglary was committed in the early hours, it occurred in the town centre so there is every chance that someone may have witnessed the offence taking place, or seen the offenders leaving the store.

“Burglaries like this can have a significant impact on a small business, so I would urge anyone who may have seen anybody acting suspiciously in the Grove Street area in the early hours of Friday morning to contact the police or Crimestoppers.”

Anyone with information should ring Retford Police Station on 101, quoting crime number BE/067152/10. Alternatively, they can ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
