Appeal for Calverton robbery information

Police are appealing for information about a robbery at a Calverton supermarket on Saturday night.

Cigarettes and a quantity of cash were stolen from the Sainsbury’s supermarket in St Wilfrid’s Square at around 10.30pm.

No one was injured, but police are investigating reports that one of the offenders may have been in possession of a weapon or tool.

The offenders, believed to be two black males and a white male, made off on foot.

Police are reviewing witness statements and CCTV images from the scene, but are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the incident, or has information about it, and has not already spoken to officers.
