Police investigate stolen van collision

Nottinghamshire Police are investigating the circumstances of a collision in which a van being pursued by a police car crashed into another vehicle at Worksop on Sunday morning (March 7).
The authorised pursuit of the white Peugeot Boxer van had begun in Lincolnshire after it been identified as a stolen vehicle. The van was driven into Nottinghamshire and Nottinghamshire Police supported Lincolnshire Police by taking over the pursuit.
At around 11.50am, the van collided with a Fiat Panda on Raymoth Lane. The female driver of the Fiat received head and leg injuries and was taken to Sheffield’s Northern General Hospital. The air ambulance attended, but was not required and the woman’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Luke Roe, 21, of no fixed address, was charged in connection with the incident. He was charged with dangerous driving, aggravated vehicle taking, driving without insurance and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence.
He was due to appear at Worksop magistrates court on Monday morning.
Nottinghamshire Police are urging any witnesses to the incident who have not already come forward to contact them on 101.
