Silver Vectra could hold key to fatal collision

Police are keen to speak to the occupants of a silver Vauxhall Vectra who they believe witnessed a fatal collision between two vehicles on the A6075 near Edwinstowe on Sunday morning.
A 68-year-old woman has died in Kings Mill Hospital, in Sutton-in-Ashfield, as a result of the multiple injuries she received in the head-on collision between the Rover car in which she was a passenger and a Vauxhall Frontera 4x4 vehicle at around 9am.
The 40-year-old driver of the Frontera was uninjured and was subsequently arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He remains in custody on Monday.
The driver of the Rover received minor injuries.
Police believe that the Vectra was overtaken by the Frontera - which was travelling away from Edwinstowe towards Warsop - moments before the collision and that those travelling in the Vectra would have witnessed the incident.
However, the Vectra did not stop at the scene and police are keen to talk to its occupants as part of the investigation.
If anyone has any information about this incident or can put police in touch with the occupants of the Vauxhall Vectra they are encouraged to contact Nottinghamshire Police’s Crash Investigation Unit urgently on 101.
Alternatively, they can ring Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
