Nottinghamshire Police can today confirm the name of the person who died following a road traffic collision at Edwinstowe on Sunday March 7.

Margaret Jones, 68, of Sandbach, in Cheshire, died at Kings Mill Hospital from multiple injuries received in the collision, which occurred on the A6075 at around 9am.

Audrius Mickevicius, 40, a Lithuanian national whose address is given as Newark Road, Ollerton, appeared before Retford magistrates on Tuesday morning charged with causing death by dangerous driving.

He has now been remanded until March 23, when he is scheduled to appear at Nottingham Crown Court.

Police are still keen to talk to witnesses to the collision.

Investigating officer DC Helen Neaverson said: “We believe that there were witnesses to the crash that stopped at the scene to help and didn't give their details to the police.

“They possibly drove off prior to the police arriving. We would like them to contact us as they could have information that is important to the investigation.”

If anyone witnessed or has any information about this incident at all, they are encouraged to contact Nottinghamshire Police’s Crash Investigation Unit urgently on 101.
