Drinking banning order for Huthwaite teen

A teenager who was drunk and abusive in Huthwaite on three separate occasions has been made the subject of a drinking banning order.
Daniel Edwards, 18, of Chesterfield Road, Huthwaite, was arrested on 23 December 2011 for using threatening words and behaviour towards Community Protection Officers in the town centre.
He was charged with three public order offences, which he admitted.
A joint application made by Nottinghamshire Police and Ashfield District Council to make Edwards the subject of a drink banning order has been granted.
It means Edwards is not allowed to be in a state of drunkenness in the town, or to be in the area with an open drinking vessel.
If he breaches the order, Edwards could face arrest and a fine of up to £2,500.
Sutton-in-Ashfield beat manager, PC Paul Carter, said: “Everyone has the right to live and work in their communities without fear or intimidation.
“The Community Protection Officers were simply out doing their jobs and did not deserve to have abuse hurled at them.
“By working with our partners, we will continue to target anyone who makes other people’s lives a misery with their antisocial behaviour.
“It simply will not be tolerated and we will do all we can to hold people like Edwards to account.”
There is currently a dispersal order operating in Huthwaite town centre to tackle antisocial behaviour.
The order was granted following persistent reports of incidents including street drinking, the use and sale of illegal drugs, fighting, as well as rowdy, intimidating and abusive behaviour.
It gives police teams the power to keep troublemakers out of the area
Under-16s are not allowed in the dispersal order zone between 9pm and 6am unless under the supervision of a parent or responsible person aged 18 or over.
Anyone who fails to comply risks being arrested and could face up to six months in prison and/or a fine of up to £5,000.
