Are you planning a quiet night in to see in the new year, or partying into the wee hours? Either way, we'll be working to keep you safe and, while it goes without saying that our officers will be out and about in the city centre, we wanted to introduce you to some of the officers who will be working in the county on the last day of 2017.

Yesterday, we introduced you to probationer PC Poppy Macky. Today, we're focusing on PC Adam Pace, who is about to start his third year as a police officer. He'll be working on response in Mansfield on New Year's Eve and you can follow him on Twitter (@PCAdamPace) for updates over the festive period.

"New Year's Eve is one of the busiest days of the year for us," said PC Pace. "I'll expect that we will be going to all types of calls throughout the night. Generally, people are in a good mood and want to enjoy their evening, but there are always a few people who either go out with the intention of causing trouble or who have a bit too much to drink. I also expect that we will catch people who decide to drink drive. Our team will no doubt be joined by several Special Constables who will give up their time to make sure nothing spoils your evening and that you see in 2018 safely."

101 is the number to call when you need to contact Nottinghamshire Police and it’s less urgent than a 999 call. Calls cost 15p, no matter how long the call lasts.
