Neighbourhood Priorities are
identified through a process that involves consultation with the community and
also local councillors.
If you wish to suggest an issue to be considered as a
possible priority you can do so in a number of ways - such as completion of a
neighbourhood survey, speaking to your local police ward team or discussion
with your councillor.
The following priority has been set for the Clifton North
- Burglary - The number of burglary offences is relatively high compared to
the same time last year. Recently properties have been targeted by offenders
entering via unlocked doors or open windows. There has also been an issue with
people knocking on door offering to do gardening or odd jobs providing a
distraction to the occupant allowing an accomplice to enter the property and
remove cash and other small valuable items.
- Theft from Motor Vehicles – There has recently been a number of auto crime
offences which includes vehicle being broken into and items being stolen or the
theft of number plates from parked vehicles.
Sept 2016 Update:
Two males have recently been arrested on suspicion of committing burglary offences in the area. One of the
males has been charged and has been remanded to prison pending trial. Since the
arrests, the number of offences has decreased more recently, but we are not
complacent and will continue to proactively police the areas affected. If you
see anything suspicious, please call the police immediately at the time of
witnessing it. This will give us the opportunity to get to the scene and try
and identify those involved
