This image, submitted by Clifford Burton, shows police officers regrouping in Matlock Avenue, Mansfield, after policing a protest march in Mansfield in 1982.

Protestors came to the town to march in memory of IRA hunger striker Bobby Sands, as the Northern Ireland Minister at the time was Mansfield MP Don Concannon.

The march began at the Sir John Cockle pub in Sutton Road, continuing into Belvedere Street, Portland Street and Quarry Lane, ending in Sheepbridge Lane.
