Firstly I want to wish everyone a Happy 2018. I hope the year is full of everything you want and you all feel strong enough for what you may face as times become challenging.

Policing is always full of challenges and I am in no doubt 2018 will be the same. A new policing model is on the horizon in April which will see officers from response teams working much more closely with their neighbourhood colleagues. This will provide huge benefits to everyone but especially our community. I will update you further nearer the time.

We have executed a number of warrants in the run up to Christmas and have more planned. The information you provide us in vital for dealing with those amongst us to want to cause issues and harm us. A number of plain clothes operations have run and proved very successful. I do take on board your concerns however about not seeing officers in their uniform and feeling like we are not present. I will always balance this along with the requirements in the area.

On that note Paul Ferguson has been a long standing Sergeant within the area and I know hugely respected. Paul is going to work from St Anns imminently as part of a decision I have made. Nigel Bradley will take over from Paul. Nigel is also a highly experienced police Sergeant from St Anns. Both Paul and Nigel have a wealth of experience and ideas about things they wish to do to continue making the area safe and I know you will make Nigel feel welcome.

I am looking forward to 2018 and to continue meeting you all at the events and community meetings  over the forthcoming year.
