Right!!! Where do I start – another busy
month again.

I am pleased to report that Damian Hammond
AKA The Joker has been banned from the City Centre for 3 years following a 22
week jail sentence. His persistent offending was causing misery to shop workers
and members of the public. His abusive and violent behaviour has finally come
to an end. I would like to thank the City Centre public for their patience. It
was important to gather enough evidence to ensure we were able to secure the
ban. Thank you.

Op Guardian has been fully embedded in
Neighbourhood Policing. October’s operation was conducted on the 27th.
Seven people were arrested and three were reported for summons. During the
operation Cannabis, Ketamine and Mamba was recovered.

I commissioned a report to identify the
impact of operation Guardian on Night Time Economy violence. The study has
shown just under 26% fewer violence and public order offences on the dates when
we run operation Guardian to equivalent nights in 2017 with no operation.

This is a significant reduction and I am
really pleased that our efforts continue to ensure the public can enjoy the
City Centre without being a victim of crime.

I am acutely aware of the ASB issues on Booth
Close and the impact on local residence. In the last few weeks the City Centre
Neighbourhood Team executed a drugs warrant at an address on Booth Close which
resulted in two people being arrested. I am determined to ensure residents of
Booth Close are able to enjoy the peace and quiet they deserve. This piece of
work is on-going and will come to a successful conclusion in the near future
–watch this space!!

Unfortunately on 23rd October 2018
there was a stabbing incident on Ossington Close. The victim is in a stable
condition. Three people were arrested shortly after the incident and enquiries
are on-going.  If you were in and around
North Sherwood Street at around 14:00 hours on the 23rd, please ring
101 quoting incident number 424 -23102018.  Any concerns about this incident please drop
me an email at the address below.

As always, if you have any comment,
please email me at anwaar.ahmed@nottinghamshire.pnn.police.uk

Until next month…take care.
