City North shows a decrease of 19 offences compared to the previous 2 weeks, which shows a continuous decrease over the month which is excellent news.

Victim based crime is down by 17 offences.

The dwelling burglary increase we saw last time has now plummeted to an amazing decrease of 11 offences.

2 x significant prolific shop lifting offenders have recently been locked up and I am just waiting for the results of their court cases and a criminal behaviour order application.

Bicycle theft has now naturally decreased by 7 since we dealt with an offender towards the end of last month the outcome of which is still to be finalised.

Motor vehicle offences in Sherwood are still occurring and tactics to combat this have been put in place and are continuing.

I am very pleased with this fortnights stats and hope it continues throughout this month.

Latest Hazel Hill update

A 16-year-old boy appeared before magistrates in Nottingham yesterday after being  charged following a Bestwood Park firearms incident.

The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with conspiring with others to possess a firearm with intent to endanger life.

It comes after a firearm was discharged in Hazel Hill Crescent, Bestwood Park on Thursday 23 May 2019.

Nine men have already appeared in court in connection with the investigation.

Priorities over the last month:-

•    Sherwood - Shop Lifting.

Update – not including the above 2 shop lifters.

Joint shop theft Op conducted which resulted in:-

5 arrested 1 warned in and interviewed.

1 sentenced to 21 weeks, 1 x injunction, bailed with conditions not to enter store, community order and rehab.

6    crimes detected.

•    Bestwood - St Matthews Vicarage – asb, damage with items being thrown into neighbouring school grounds.

Update – Church is now fully demolished and the rubble cleared.

•    TFMV Carrington – occurs overnight, police tactics in place.

Regretfully this is still continuing however our investigations are now moving in a positive direction.

•    Shop Theft City North – Monitor any displacement from Shop Theft OP and any other hotspot areas.

As above 2 prolific shop lifters arrested over the last 2 weeks so this should significantly reduce offences, we are still out and about hunting a further 2 down so hopefully we will apprehend

Good News

A joint agency approach has finally seen an address on Newmarket road boarded up after many years of issues in relation to persons attending the property, the main occupant has been offered help in relation to his personal issues and given more suitable accommodation elsewhere, this is a great success for both police and other agencies.

By the end of this week PCSO Dan Widdowson will have crossed to the other side starting as a Police Constable with Nottinghamshire Police on the7th June, we wish him all the best.

We welcome PC Matt Johnson to the Sherwood area who is a transferee and an Ex PCSO so comes with plenty of experience and is eager to get stuck in.

PCSO Yasmin Szulk-Khan has now moved over to Oxclose lane police station and will cover Rise Park from there and also help out with jobs in Bestwood.

15th June 2pm – 5pm – Bestwood Cultural Festival, Bestwood Park Church, Beckhampton road.
