Crime Update

As we end this calendar year, and the decade, I am pleased to tell you
that the City West continues to show a crime reduction of 7% which in real
terms means 402 less victims.

Acquisitive Crime

All though we continue to have a year to date decrease in Burglary
Dwellings we have had a small increase in burglaries recently. We are working
closely with our colleagues in CID and Scenes of Crimes to investigate these
offences and identify these offences.

House Burglaries are down by 27% (90 less reports).

Vehicle offences are down by 38% (219 less reports).

Encouragingly, year to date, theft from shops is showing a healthy
reduction of 38% which is 113 less reports. We would like that trend to
continue into 2020.

Please take sensible precautions to protect your property and valuables
over the Xmas period.

ASB continues to show a small decrease of 2.8% - we would like to
increase this reduction.

Again, I ask that these reports continue as it allows me to put the
right resources into the right areas at the right time. We are working with our
partners to challenge ASB in all its forms. This will, I am sure, lead to a
better decrease in ASB.

**Please report ASB on 101**

Our Mini Police at Rossyln School
have very busy reminding car drivers to park sensibly around the school and
avoid parking on zig zag crossings etc. The children designed their own leaflets
which they handed out.

The neighbourhood team have been
supporting local Christmas events across the area and have been enjoying the
festive community spirit attending many xmas light switch on events.

If you are having
a community event this winter please let the local team know as we would like
to attend and engage with our people.

And finally

I sincerely hope you all have a
great time with your
families over the holiday season – enjoy and have fun.

Merry Christmas and see you all
in 2020.
