I thought I would share
our current crime performance so far this year.

Recorded Crime Year to Date on the City West

of Acquisitive Crime on the City West:

·       All
Burglaries (residential & commercial). Burglaries are down by 22%. So far
this year we have recorded 154 offences this year compared to 176 last year.

·       Personal
Robbery. So far this year we have recorded 20 crimes of personal robbery
compared to 34 reports during the same period last year. (-41%).

·       Auto
crime is showing a healthy 23% reduction will equates to 17 less victims. 

Anti- Social behaviour & Hate Crime

·       Unfortunately
our reports of ASB have increased by 75%. We have received 2090 reports
compared to 1190 last year.

·       Hate
crimes have reduced by 9%. We have recorded 77 crimes compared to 85.  


During the pandemic our face to face engagements
have been reduced. We continue to make best use of our social media platforms.

Court Results

COURT: Trio jailed for nearly 30 years combined over knife and hammer

Three men have been jailed for 29 years combined after a man
was attacked with a knife and hammer at a house party in Aspley.

Joseph Molloy, 25, formerly of Eardley Road, Bestwood, was
found guilty of wounding and robbery after a trial. He was locked up for 13

Jacee Carruthers, 24, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to
wounding. He received an 11-year sentence.

Mace Fletcher, 21, of no fixed address, was found guilty of
wounding after a trial. He was handed a five-year sentence.

Their victim, a man aged in his 20s, was stabbed by
Carruthers, hit to the head with a hammer by Fletcher and also assaulted and
robbed by Molloy during the attack.

It happened at a house on Shepton Crescent during the early
hours of 3rd August 2019.

The brutal unprovoked attack then continued in the back garden
of the property where the victim was robbed of his bag and its contents.

The victim sustained stab wounds to his arm and finger, cuts
to his head and face, a broken tooth and bruising and swelling.

He also suffered scratches to both arms caused by the knife
wielded by Carruthers as he put his hands up to defend himself.
