28-year-old man arrested in Worksop

A 28-year-old man was arrested in Worksop last night (Monday 13 January 2020) after a report of burglary.

Nottinghamshire Police was called to Edinburgh Road at around 3.40pm after a report of a man forcing his way into a property and assaulting a man inside.

Officers attended the scene and conducted inquiries into the incident.

A man was arrested near the scene on suspicion of aggravated burglary and stalking.

Detective Sergeant Abigail Goucher, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Violent crime can have a devastating impact on people’s lives and we are committed to thoroughly investigating all reports made to us.

“Our officers acted quickly to make an arrest and we are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.

“However, if you witnessed anything or have any information that could aid our officers in their investigation, please contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101 and quote incident number 575 of 13 January 2020.”
