Officers are investigating after around 24 incidents over the past two weeks where mobile phones have been stolen from pubs and cafes in the city centre.

They've normally been taken from table tops in front of the victim whilst distracted socialising.

The advice to beat the pick pockets includes:

•Pay close attention to your mobile phones if left on the table top

•Keep mobile phones secure whilst distracted on other electronic devices or socialisng

•Be vigilant with your property if approached by unknown individuals whilst sat in a café/restaurant

•Keep straps short and bags tucked under your arm

•Don’t put your mobile in your rear pocket

•Do keep a list, separate from your wallet and phone, of family contact numbers in case your phone is stolen

If you see anything suspicious or have any concerns, tell a staff member as soon as possible or call us on 101.
