Vehicles have been left with serious damage after being hit by debris thrown from bridges on the A1

Seven incidents happened on the Carlton on Trent, Sutton on Trent and Muskham stretches of the route in the early hours of Tuesday 16 October 2018.

Police patrols in the area have been increased and we urge anyone with information that could assist us in locating those responsible, to come forward.

PC Deborah Bakin said: “Clearly this is extremely dangerous and it is just lucky that no-one has been injured. “If you saw anything or you have noticed anyone acting suspiciously in these areas, let us know. If anyone knows who is doing this, it is really important that you tell us before someone is hurt.”

Call police on 101 with incident 000046-16102018 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
