Arrest after man seen in street with knife

Police were called after a man was reportedly seen running down a street with a knife.

Officers were called to an address in Seely Road, Lenton, shortly after 8.45pm when a member of the public reported a disturbance.

A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray and remains in police custody.

Inspector Mark Stanley, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We take any reports of knife crime extremely seriously and will always respond immediately when incidents like this are reported to us. However I’d also like to reassure people that incidents like this are also extremely rare.”
