A burglary victim has been left shaken after a group of masked intruders armed with weapons entered a Clifton home.

It was reported a number of people all wearing balaclavas smashed their way into the property at around 8.30pm on Sunday evening (4 April 2021).

Officers were able to arrest a 34-year-old woman in connection with the burglary. She remains in police custody.

Nottinghamshire Police detectives are appealing for anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area to call them to help with their enquiries.

Detective Sergeant Chris Berryman is leading the investigation. He said: "This must have been a terrifying experience for the occupants. Thankfully no residents suffered any injuries, it could have been a lot worse.

"We are appealing to anyone who saw anything suspicious in Barbury Drive in Clifton on Sunday to call us immediately.

"We are also urging people to check their dash cam footage and local CCTV from that evening too. Any small information could help us at this early stage of our enquiries.

"I would like to reassure members of the community that we take all reports of burglary extremely seriously and are doing all we can to establish who was responsible for this crime and make them face the consequences of their actions.

"If you can help please call 101, quoting incident number 488 of 24 March 2021."
