Boys charged in connection with altercation

Two boys are due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court charged in connection with a report of an altercation in Beeston.

A 16-year-old boy received an injury to his hand in the incident, which was reported to have happened at around 6pm on 9 September near to the Beeston Bus and Tram Interchange in Styring Road.

Police quickly arrested two boys in connection with the incident.

A 14-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is charged with threatening a person with a bladed or pointed article in a public place and actual bodily harm. The boy has been remanded pending his court appearance.

A 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is charged with threatening behaviour with intent to cause fear of or provoke violence. The boy has been bailed pending his court appearance on 14 October 2020.

Detective Sergeant Luke Todd, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Nottinghamshire Police is committed to tackling violence and will investigate any reports thoroughly.
