More than 50 plants have been seized from a cannabis grow in a house in Rainworth.

Officers investigating the house in North Avenue executed a search at the property at around 4pm yesterday afternoon.

A 29-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of conspiracy to supply cannabis and officers are now working to establish the circumstances around the plants.

Inspector Heather Sutton, of Nottinghamshire Police said: “This discovery is a great example of how strong links with our communities can lead to incredibly positive results.

“We were alerted to the property by a concerned member of the public and have now been able to confiscate more than 50 plants as part of our enquiries.

“Drugs can have a devastating impact on communities and Nottinghamshire Police endeavours to tackle drug crime in all its forms. We will investigate all reports of suspicious activity and take any report of drug related offences seriously.

“A man is now being questioned in connection with the grow as part of our investigation.

“Lockdown has given drug dealers less opportunity to hide in plain sight and we have had some incredible successes in terms of drugs warrants over the last three months.”

If you spot any suspicious activity in your area, please do not hesitate to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101 or in an emergency, dial 999.
