Police have cordoned off part of a city centre car park as part of an ongoing investigation.

People are being advised to avoid the Metro car park in Union Road as a scene is expected to be in place for some time after officers attended the location at 11.05pm yesterday (Saturday 1 August).

Detective Inspector Kayne Rukas, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “A number of officers are in the area and are investigating an incident. It is very early in the investigation and we will update people with more information as soon as we can.”

Anyone who was in the area at around that time who may have seen anything is urged to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 957 of 1 August 2020.

101 is the number to call when you need to contact Nottinghamshire Police and it’s less urgent than a 999 call. Calls cost 15p, no matter how long the call lasts.
