Welcome to this week's tip of the week from the Cyber Crime team based at Radford Road.

Our tips of the week are a quick and easy reminder of simple steps you and members of the public can take to ensure they stay safe online and keep their devices secure from attack.

Two-factor authentication (2FA) acts as an extra layer of security.

If someone was to login on your account it would be unsuccessful without the unique text message code so worth using 2FA where possible.

To approve logins on other devices using 2FA you will be required to input the unique text code sent to you upon you confirming this is you competing the login. However, if this isn't your log-in you will be talked through security measures to protect the account as the account cannot be accessed without the text code sent to your number.

Here's how to set this up: https://www.turnon2fa.com/tutorials/

101 is the number to call when you need to contact Nottinghamshire Police and it’s less urgent than a 999 call. Calls cost 15p, no matter how long the call lasts.
