Nottinghamshire Police is appealing for information after reports of a disorder in Netherfield.

Officers were called just before 5.25pm today (16 September) to reports of disorder between two groups of young people in Victoria Road in Netherfield, Nottingham.

It was reported that two groups of boys were fighting and that knives were seen as part of the incident.

Two people have been taken to hospital with injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening or life-altering.

Sergeant Andy Hallam, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “I understand the concern that incidents like this can cause in the community. However, I would like to reassure people that officers arrived within five minutes of us taking this call and are still present in the area as we work to establish what happened and find those responsible.

“Carrying a knife on our streets is never acceptable and is something that Nottinghamshire Police works hard to tackle through both education and enforcement.

“There will be relevant information about this incident within the community and we are appealing to anyone who saw what happened or has such information to come forward.”

If you have information you should call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 602 of 16 September. Alternatively information can be provided anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
