Police officers will be carrying out patrols as Goose Fair 2019 enters its last fun-filled day today (Sunday 6 October 2019, 1pm-9pm) at the Forest Recreation Ground in Nottingham.

Our friendly officers have been conducting patrols throughout the event helping to keep people safe and protect their property – if you spot them please do say hello!

Fairgoers are encouraged to keep their belongings, especially mobile phones, wallets and keys, safe and secure. Make sure your bag is closed and don’t walk around with valuables on display.

People are advised to use public transport to travel to and from the fair as the roads around the area can become congested.

The Forest Recreation Ground is easily accessible by bus or tram.

Use the Nottingham City Council journey planner to find the best route for you. For more details visit https://www.transportnottingham.com/

Parents and carers are advised to arrange a pre-planned place to meet their children should they become lost.

Superintendent Paul Winter said: "The vast majority of people who visit Goose Fair just want to enjoy themselves. Thousands of people go to the fair every year, and there are only a small minority who cause problems.

"Our officers will be there in case of any criminality to protect people and their property.

"We want everyone visiting the fair to have fun and go home safely. We hope you all have a fantastic time!"
