A huge thank you to all of the individuals and businesses who continue to support your emergency services

People and businesses have been rallying around doing what they can to support their emergency services in the wake of the Coronavirus.

In Newark alone, Morrison’s staff recently donated lots of sandwich wraps that would have gone to waste. They wanted to distribute it amongst the community but were store-bound so our response officers offered up their services and visited Beaumond House Community Hospice, Lancaster Grange Care Home, Newark Fire Station, East Midlands Ambulance Service.

Then yesterday, Greggs in Stodman Street provided us with a quantity of food and drink that was shared between our colleagues at East Midlands Ambulance Service, Newark Fire Station and Newark Hospital and was very gratefully received.

Officers and staff working at Mansfield Police station also got a nice surprise from Kings Mill Farm pub when they donated all of their left over desserts which would have gone to waste after they closed their doors.

We know this is a very tough time for everyone and we are hearing more and more stories of kindness and generosity so we thank you for everything you are doing and ask you to stay safe and stay at home unless it's absolutely essential.

All deliveries were made safely, with officers keeping to social distancing and hygiene rules. For advice on coronavirus, the symptoms and how to stop it spreading go to www.nhs.uk/coronavirus.
