INCIDENT: Nottingham city centre disturbance

Officers were called at around 3pm in relation to a disturbance in the upper floor of the Victoria Shopping Centre, Nottingham today (1 December 2018).

Officers arrived and conducted a thorough search of the area.

Reports suggested an altercation between a number of youths, all described as black, and one in possession of a knife.

Insp Paul Hennessy said: “Reports of this nature are concerning and we treat them extremely seriously.

“Officers are scrutinising CCTV and engaging with witnesses to establish exactly what has taken place and an investigation will continue, at this time we have no reports of anyone being injured.

“The public will note a regular presence of officers in and around the city, especially during the festive period, when we see more people enjoying the city’s attractions.”
