A 43-year-old man is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates' Court this morning (Monday 29 June) having been charged in connection with an incident in Sneinton Boulevard.

Officers from Nottinghamshire Police were called to a report that windows had been smashed and a man had been injured by a piece of glass at around 1am on Saturday (27 June).

Dennis Armstrong, of Sneinton Boulevard, was arrested a few hours later and subsequently charged with aggravated burglary before being remanded to appear before Magistrates.

Detective Inspector Ruby Burrow said: "This was a despicable act of violence which we will not tolerate in Nottinghamshire. My team have been working hard on the investigation which has led to this charge and we will continue to carry out enquiries and gather evidence in connection to this case."
