Man arrested in connection with Mansfield burglary

A man has been arrested in connection with a burglary in Mansfield earlier this month.

The incident happened at an address in Sandown Road in the early hours of Sunday 19 July, when an offender gained entry by breaking through a rear window.Jewellery, cash and electrical items were taken from inside the property, which was unoccupied at the time.

A 48-year-old man was arrested yesterday on suspicion of burglary and remains in police custody.

Detective Sergeant Matt Scott said: “Burglaries like this are incredibly distressing for victims who have had their homes violated and their possessions taken from them. That’s why we take this issue so seriously and rigorously investigate every report we receive.

“I am pleased we have been able to make an arrest in this case but would still like to hear from anyone who believes they may have any information that can further assist our investigation.”
