Proactive work by the city centre Operation Reacher team has resulted in a 30-year-old man being arrested and charged with two city centre commercial burglaries.

Daniel Evans of Larkdale Street, Arboretum, was charged with two counts of burglary following his arrest on Sunday (10 January 2021).

The charges relate to burglaries in Bridlesmith Gate at around 5.25pm on Thursday 3 December 2020 and in Castle Bridge Road at around 6.45pm on Sunday 6 December 2020.

Chief Inspector Kathryn Craner, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "Burglary is an extremely invasive crime and has huge impacts for those involved, both homeowners and retailers who, in particular, are already facing various challenges in the current climate.

"The Operation Reacher teams are doing some brilliant work, listening to the locals, acting on information they are given and being visible in the community.

"We would reassure people that reports such as this are taken very seriously and we will thoroughly investigate where this has happened."
