Three people have been arrested by police investigating a reported kidnapping.

Officers were called at around 3.10pm on Friday 11 September after three men are said to have forced their way into property in Poplar Street, Retford, and taken a woman away in a car.

Three people, a 37-year-old man, a 31-year-old woman and a 25-year-old woman were later arrested in South Yorkshire on suspicion of kidnap. The woman was found unharmed.

Detective Sergeant Dave Prest, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a distressing incident for the victim and we are determined to get to the bottom of exactly what happened.

“In order to do that we are keen to trace a large silver vehicle – possibly a 4 x 4 – that was spotted in the area at around the time of this incident. We’d also like to hear from any other people who were in the Poplar Street area at around 3pm on Friday.

“Did you see anyone acting suspiciously? If so then please contact us on 101 quoting incident number 441 of 11 September.”
