Officers investigating a report of a girl being threatened are appealing for information and witnesses.

Police were called to Victoria Road in Sherwood at around 12.15pm on Friday 11 September after a 17-year-old girl was reported to have been approached by a man who told her he wanted to take a photo of her.

The girl tried to ignore the man but he is then reported to have got aggressive and shouted at her, he allegedly then made threats to attack her.

Fortunately, she was not harmed in the incident.

Officers are now appealing for anyone who may have seen the incident to come forward.

Police Constable Xanthe Spencer, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was reported to have been an incredibly intimidating act and that left the girl shaken.

“It is thought that a man had pulled up in a small yellow car before he started to verbally abuse the girl.

“We’d like to speak with an Asian man in his 30s who is believed to have information that may help us establish the circumstances.

“If you witnessed the incident or have any information that could aid officers in their investigation, please do not hesitate to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 277 of 11 September 2020.”
