Detectives investigating a robbery where an 85-year-old man was attacked in St Peter's Street have released fresh details of people they want to speak to.

The elderly man was walking home from from his local pub at around 6.45pm on Tuesday 11 December when a man pushed him to the ground, getting away with his shopping bag which contained a number of personal items and cash.

The offender is about 5ft 6ins tall, of slim build and was wearing pale jeans/trousers and a dark-coloured jacket with the hood up.

It's believed the victim was helped by two men who got out of a car to help him up from the ground then tried to go after the offender. We would like speak to them to see if they can help in any way.

We also believe another man walking down the street may have witnessed the offence.

If you were involved in any way, saw what happened or have any information that could help, please call us on 101 quoting incident 789 of 11 December. You can also call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
