Teenager arrested after report of suspicious incident in Sherwood

A teenager has been arrested following a police pursuit after officers responded to a suspicious incident in Sherwood.

We received a report of three occupants of a car acting suspiciously in the Quorn Road area at around 4.38 today (Thursday 11 April 2019). Officers searched the area and spotted the vehicle. They followed the car which came to stop following a brief pursuit.

The driver abandoned the vehicle but was swiftly detained by an officer using a police dog.

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of burglary, theft, failing to stop, possession of a Class B drug and possession of an offensive weapon. He remains in police custody.

A number of items, suspected to have been stolen, were recovered from the car.

Officers investigating the incident believe that there are still another two suspects outstanding and are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to come forward.
