Two people have been arrested following a serious assault in Radford.

A 42-year-old man was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre with serious but not life-threatening injuries after being stabbed in Lawson Street at around 8pm yesterday (Wednesday 6 February). He is in a stable condition.

Officers today arrested a 33-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, and are currently questioning them in connection with the incident.

Detective Inspector Kayne Rukas, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "This was a serious assault and people will have seen a considerable police response in the area."We believe this was a self-contained incident and there is no wider threat to the public.

"We have made arrests in connection with the incident but we would urge anyone who saw what happened, or has CCTV or dash-cam footage that may be helpful to the investigation, to come forward."
