Update: Murder victim named

Detectives investigating the murder of a man in Nottingham city centre have named the victim.

Nottinghamshire Police can confirm that 28-year-old Lee Daniel Roy Cooper (pictured) died after being stabbed on Union Road at about 7.40pm on Saturday 14 September 2019.

Lee was tended to at the scene but was sadly pronounced dead a short time later.

He leaves behind his loving family.

A family spokesperson paid tribute by saying: "Lee was taken too soon and will be greatly missed by everyone within the family".

So far three people have been arrested in connection with the murder. They have all been released from custody while enquiries continue.

Detective Chief Inspector Robert Routledge said: "Our enquiries are continuing into the circumstances surrounding Lee’s death.

"We are still urging anyone with any information to come forward.

"Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information about those responsible is asked to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 812 of 14 September 2019, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
