UPDATE: New Basford firearms discharge

Statement from Detective Inspector Daniel Johnstone:

“Following reports of a firearms discharge in Eland Street, New Basford, at around 7.55pm last night, our officers have been making enquiries to establish the circumstances of the incident.

“Officers have been in the area conducting house-to-house enquiries and we have increased patrols in the area.

“I would like to reassure the public that this incident was contained and that no one was hurt as a result of the discharged firearm. If you live in the area and have any concerns, please speak to our officers or call us, we are more than happy to help.

“I would also like to appeal for anyone who witnessed anything suspicious, or has CCTV or dash-cam footage in the area, to get in touch as soon as possible."
