Update: Road reopened following serious collision between cyclist and bus

A road has been reopened following a serious collision between a cyclist and a bus.

The cyclist, a 30-year-old man, has been taken to hospital following the incident on Derby Road just after 5pm today (Wednesday 6 November). His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-altering.

The incident happened on the inbound stretch between Priory Island and the QMC Island and the road was closed in both directions between the two islands but it has now been reopened.

Officers have arrested a man at the scene on suspicion of dangerous driving.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or had dash-cam footage that could help the enquiry, is urged to call 101, quoting incident number 648 of 6 November 2019.
