Winter is here!

We'd advise you to read through our tips to keep your home, vehicles and family safe this Christmas:

  • As the nights get darker earlier - leave a light on inside your home. Remember to choose low-energy lamps.
  • Check your vehicle - ensure you check your fuel, oil and water levels, check electrics and make sure your tyres have sufficient tread before setting out.
  • Keep warm, keep well - if you are over 65 or have a health condition or reduced mobility, you should ideally heat your home to at least 18C. It is also a good idea to try to keep your bedroom at this temperature throughout the night if possible too.

101 is the number to call when you need to contact Nottinghamshire Police and it’s less urgent than a 999 call. Calls cost 15p, no matter how long the call lasts.
