A woman has been charged with assaulting two police officers following a report that they were attacked with garden shears.

Officers were called to Stanley Road at around 10.50am on Sunday (4 April 2021) to conduct a safe and well check.

They entered the house, but were soon allegedly attacked by a woman. A struggle followed and she was disarmed and detained.

Ellie Queen, 29, of Stanley Road in Forest Fields has been charged with two counts of assaulting emergency workers.

Police Constable Louise Ramsay, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "Our response teams worked quickly to bring this potentially dangerous incident to a safe conclusion.

"Our officers on the front line are equipped with the specialist training and equipment to ensure they can do this in a safe manner.

"Thankfully the officers involved didn't suffer any serious injuries, they have been provided with support.

"The woman has since been bailed to attend Nottingham Magistrates Court on 19 April 2021."
