Officers are appealing for information after a group of men caused criminal damage to a shop.

The group of around six or seven, who were wearing balaclavas and gloves, threw fireworks inside the Top Market store in Sneinton Dale and smashed a window, door and stock using sticks and a baseball bat at around 7.45pm yesterday (Tuesday 31 October). No one was hurt.

We also received reports of anti-social behaviour in the street after the incident, including throwing fireworks.

It follows a report of a public order incident in Sneinton Dale on the previous night, in which a large group of people were reported to be fighting in the street. A 29-year-old man and a 24-year-old man have now been arrested in connection with that incident and further arrests are expected.

Patrols are being increased in the area and a dispersal order was put in place last night for 48 hours - meaning anyone who refuses to leave the area can be arrested.

Officers are making enquiries and checking CCTV footage in relation to the two incidents and are appealing for anyone with information, or video footage, to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting incident number 879 of 31 October 2017.

101 is the number to call when you need to contact Nottinghamshire Police and it’s less urgent than a 999 call. Calls cost 15p, no matter how long the call lasts.
