Detectives investigating the death of a man found on the A1 are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
The man, in his late 20s, was found unresponsive on a northbound slip road, near Newark-on-Trent, shortly before 9.30pm on Tuesday (24 October).
Police and paramedics were in attendance but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The A1 was closed in both directions until around 8am the next morning while investigations were carried out. The A46 flyover was also closed for a number of hours.
An investigation to establish the full circumstances of the man’s death are ongoing and detectives are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
DC Liah Lane, from Nottinghamshire Police’s serious collision investigation unit, said:
“This is a tragic incident and our thoughts remain with the man’s family and friends at this very difficult time.
“Our investigation into the circumstances is ongoing and I would appeal for anyone with information to come forward.
“Did you witness an incident or capture anything on dash cam footage? If you can assist our investigation, please get in touch.”
