Appeal after woman hit by vehicle

Police are seeking the public’s help after a woman was hit by a vehicle as she was crossing the road.

She suffered a broken ankle after the collision which happened next to the old Newcastle Arms pub, in Nuthall Road, Nottingham, at 6.11am on Monday (9 September).

The woman said the driver of the black vehicle stopped and dragged her out of the road, however once she was out of the road, they then drove away without exchanging any details. 

Officers are keen to trace the driver and are appealing for them to come forward.

They would also like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision, but has yet to speak to officers, and are also asking for any motorists who were in the area around the time of the incident to check their dashcam footage and to come forward if they have captured the incident or its aftermath.

Sergeant Natham Phipps, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “It’s important we trace the driver involved in this incident and we’d encourage them to do the right thing and come forward.

“If you were in Nuthall Road around the time of the incident, it’s possible you have may have dashcam footage that captures the incident or the black vehicle as it was driven away.

“Please check your dashcam and come forward if you have information that could assist our investigation.

“Likewise, if you saw what happened and have any information that may be relevant to our inquiries, please call us on 101 quoting incident number 56 of 9 September 2024, or alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
