A man has been arrested after bundles of cash were found hidden in his boxer shorts.
Officers on patrol in Manvers Street in Sneinton at 1.45am on Thursday 17 August noticed a Vauxhall Astra believed to be connected to drug dealing.
Two men got out of a vehicle and were lurking around a brick wall when officers put on the blue lights.
Both men were detained and searched where a large quantity of cash and a mobile phone were recovered.
In the shrubs behind the wall was a small quantity of cannabis in commercialised packaging. A search of the vehicle found more cannabis, a hammer and chisel.
All items were seized. In custody, a further search of one of the suspect’s found two bundles of cash and cannabis in his boxer shorts.
A 24-year-old man and 28-year-old man were arrested for possession with intent to supply a Class B drug (cannabis).
The 28-year-old was further arrested for possession of an offensive weapon, possession of a bladed article and drug driving when the drug swipe came back positive for cannabis.
Neighbourhood Inspector Steve Dalby said: “This was the brilliant result by tenacious officers who noticed a driver acting suspiciously in the area. They continued to watch the vehicle’s movements before moving in.
“This paid off and the driver of the vehicle has been arrested for a series of offences including drug driving which has the potential to see him banned from the roads.
“We will use all the tools at our disposal to ensure that those who think they can drive around the streets of Nottingham peddling drugs are punished
“That also includes taking your cash and driving licence away from you.”
