Police are investigating after two men used a distraction tactic to steal a mobile phone.
A student was sat with two friends when a man approached them and asked if any of them spoke Italian.
After a brief conversation, he walked away and moments later the student realised his phone, which had been on the table, was no longer there.
Officers believe a second man stole the phone while the student and his friends were distracted.
The theft happened at Hallward Library, in Library Road, Nottingham, on 4 May 2023.
PC Aaron Mulcahy, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We believe the two people pictured may have information relevant to the investigation into the theft, and are appealing for them, or anyone who recognises them, to get in touch.”
Information can be reported to Nottinghamshire Police on 101 quoting crime reference 23*275828.
