Drugs flushed out after suspected dealer found in toilet

Police flushed out a bag of suspected Class A drugs after cornering a suspected dealer in a toilet.

Officers were carrying out a pre-planned raid at a multi-occupancy address in Noel Street, Forest Fields, when they heard a flushing toilet.

After rushing outside they lifted a sewer inspection cover and recovered a bag of suspected crack cocaine wedged in a pipe.

Another wrap of drugs was found in the toilet bowl.

Two people, a 44-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman, were arrested suspicion of possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply and later released on bail.

Cash, mobile phones and two knives were also recovered during the operation on the morning of 30 October.

Sergeant Mark Southgate, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:

“This certainly wasn’t the most pleasant morning’s work but we were at least pleased with the end result – two suspects in custody and a considerable amount of illegal drugs taken off the streets.

“Whenever we carry out a raid of this nature we‘re always alive to the possibility that items of interest may find their way down the toilet so I doubt this will be the last time we have to get our hands dirty in this way.”
