Police have arrested a suspect following reports of a fight in Nottingham city centre.
Officers responded quickly to a report of males fighting with weapons in Canal Street shortly before 1pm yesterday (18 October).
An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray.
It is unclear if anyone was injured in the incident and officers would like to hear from anyone who has any information, CCTV or dash-cam footage which could help with their investigation.
Inspector Paul Gummer, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “While we do not believe there is any wider risk to public safety, there will continue to be an increased police presence in the area today while we carry out further investigations into this incident.
“I would urge anyone with information about this incident to call us on 101 quoting incident 314 of 18 October 2023. Alternatively call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.”
